Quiet Reflection on a Sunny Sunday Morning
The Daily Brew
Since I moved to Brookside 18 months ago, I spend a lot of time in Falmouth coffee shops when I’m in between appointments.
When I’m in Ballymeade or North Falmouth, the “Brew” is my place for coffee or lunch. Love everything they make, the warm and inviting atmosphere, the newspaper to read, the outside deck in good weather, and the cozy upstairs when it’s chilly outside.

Shad Roe
Have you ever eaten shad roe? Do you know what it is? It’s the egg sac of the shad who are swimming upstream to spawn in our local rivers right now – but they won’t be here long.
Prep is easy – just sauté in butter, add a little salt and pepper, and dig in. Doesn’t get any more local or fresh than this!
The Cataumet Fish Market is selling this spring treat for $12.99 a lb.

Consignment Classics
We want spring, badly, but the truth is that on the Cape, we have a few spring-like days before summer, and that’s all.
I get in the mood, though, doing a ruthless sweep through my closet and bringing the spring things that haven’t seen the light of day for a year or two to Sharon at Consignment Classics at The Courtyard in Cataumet, and to Lynn at The Buyway Boutique in the Queens Byway.
Today I was at CC. I already feel lighter! Resisted buying more than I delivered, usually a losing battle.
